AI is everywhere right now. It’s in our phones, in our apps, and quietly woven into so many parts of daily life. But I wanted to take a moment to share why I use it, especially as someone who’s neurodivergent and why I think that matters.
If you’ve been reading my posts for a while, you might have noticed a little note at the bottom that says, “Disclaimer: This post was edited by ChatGPT.” I add that because I believe in being transparent. When I use AI, I want you to know.
Here’s the thing: when I write, especially when I’m in full flow, my brain delivers all the thoughts at once. It’s like trying to pour a bag of Skittles through a funnel, colourful, exciting, but absolutely chaotic. My ideas can be meaningful, heartfelt, and sincere, but they don’t always come out in the right order. And let’s not talk about the grammar. Or the punctuation. Or the sentences that accidentally never end.
That’s where AI steps in. It helps me untangle the mess, smooth out the rough bits, and turn my rambling into something more readable. But and this is important I don’t use AI to write _for_ me. I don’t say, “Hey ChatGPT, write me a blog post about this.” That wouldn’t feel authentic. It wouldn’t be me.
What I do use it for is the boring stuff, tidying up grammar, helping with tricky phrasing, or unblocking me when I’m stuck. Those repetitive, mundane tasks that make my brain say “nope!” are where AI becomes my sidekick.
So if you ever spot that little disclaimer at the bottom of a post, just know it’s still me talking. I’ve written every word but sometimes, I’ve had a little help getting it to make sense.
