So, two week on 18mg of Atomoxetine has passed, how do I feel?
This medication is so much different to Elvanse or it’s counterparts, it works differently, it gets into your body differently, the main difference being that it takes time to work and not a few hours we are talking a few weeks – it doesn’t punch me in the face like Elvanse did, there is no palpitations and that is mainly because it isn’t a stimulant.
I was warned that there might be side effects such as feeling sick and getting headaches which would pass, I didn’t get the sickness but I did get a headache and it isn’t like a normal headache it was more like a dull distant headache that was lingering in the background waiting to pounce, you knew it was there but it wasn’t there enough to be disruptive.
Atomoxetine doesn’t give you cotton mouth (dry mouth) either which is good, Elvanse made me so thirsty, anyone would think I was constantly eating salt.
So these first few weeks have just been me easing onto the medication, It is hard to quantify something like this because the change could be super gradual but I have definitely noticed especially in the last week or so that I am able to think a bit clearer, I don’t know if that is the medication though or other factors.
Either way, today I move onto 25mg of the same medication which is quite a jump in dose, so time will tell how this plays out and what happens over the course of the two weeks that this lasts.
